Whole Family Support Fund - Referral form

Making counselling more accessible for individuals and families
Bright Light Relationship Counselling is part of a partnership supported by Scottish Government funding through the Whole Family Support Fund. The fund aims to help families across Scotland access support when they need it, particularly where circumstances or barriers might otherwise make it difficult to get the help they need.

Through this funding, Bright Light can offer fully funded counselling of up to 20 sessions, depending on individual and family circumstances and assessed need.

Support is available across all four of our counselling services:

  • Individual counselling

  • Couple counselling

  • Family counselling

  • Child and Young Person counselling

We aim to make professional counselling more accessible, helping individuals and families work through difficulties, improve relationships and strengthen their emotional wellbeing. Counselling can take place in person at our dedicated counselling rooms at York Place in Edinburgh, or online, offering flexibility to suit individual circumstances.

To be eligible for funded counselling the person being referred needs to meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be a lone parent.

  • Be from an ethnic minority.

  • Be a parent aged 25 or under.

  • Be in a family with more than three children.

  • Have a child in the family under the age of one.

  • Have a disability or chronic health condition, including mental health
or have a family member with one of the above.

Please complete and submit the form. Our team will review your referral and discuss the next steps with you.
