Confidentiality

Your confidentiality is important to us and everyone who works at Bright Light is bound by a code of confidentiality. We do not give your name or share information with any other agency or person and calls are not recorded. The only time we would break this code is if a child is at risk or we believe an adult is at risk of serious harm.

We follow the guidance provided by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) for storage of records. Our records are kept for one year before being destroyed. Where a client has chosen to disclose incidents of domestic abuse, self-harm, or reference to vulnerable child protection we keep records for 6 years.
