Welcome to Bright Light 'out and about'
Find out what we are doing to raise awareness of our work, about partners we are working with to help raise much needed funds and how you can help us.
2017 was a high profile year that we will be building on. We celebrated our 70th anniversary with a Scottish Parliament Reception, Lord Provost of Edinburgh Reception and the magnificent looking Kelpies adopted our brand colours! Please support our work by taking part in our fundraising campaigns or consider joining us in one of our volunteer posts and be part of our planning and growth. We are looking for people now!
Tesco asks customers to support us!
We have won a place in the next round of voting in the Tesco Bags of Help programme and voting started in Tesco stores on the 2nd January. Bags of Help is Tesco’s exciting local community grant scheme where the money raised from the sale of carrier bags is being used to fund thousands of local projects in communities across the UK. Three community projects in each local area will be voted on by customers in Tesco stores with projects changing every other month. Following the vote, the project that receives the most votes in its area will receive a grant of up to £4,000, second place receiving up to £2,000 and third place up to £1,000. Customers are given a token when they buy their shopping that they can use to make their choice using the voting units in most stores. If you shop at Tesco please consider giving your token to us, voting is open until the end of February 2018 so there is plenty of time to cast your vote. Watch here for details of participating stores.
Waitrose Comely Bank have adopted Bright Light along with two other charities for the month of January.
All you need to do is make a minimum of one purchase, pay at the tills ask for a green charity token to pop it into the box that says Bright Light. The box is on the way out the door. At the end of January all the green tokens are counted and we will receive a donation based on how many tokens we gained.
If you shop in Waitrose please help raise as much money as we can.
