Bright Light is a registered charity and leading provider of relationship counselling and family therapy in Scotland. This year we celebrate both our 70th anniversary and the launch of our new strategic plan. As part of our ongoing commitment to provide a truly inclusive service across Edinburgh and The Lothians we are currently recruiting relationship counsellors to work in several locations. 

In return for access to first class CPD, a choice of group supervision, full support from our dedicated admin team and a generous remuneration package we ask that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in relationship counselling at diploma level or above.
  • Are a registered therapist with Relate or Relationships Scotland
  • Are accredited with BACP and/or COSCA or you are working towards accreditation 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to values and practice policies of Bright Light

You will be able to work with a diverse range of couples and individuals who want to achieve a better future for themselves and their relationships.

Location: Sighthill Health Centre, Edinburgh (map)
Hours:  Thursdays 1pm - 5pm
Sighthill is easily accessible and also offers free parking. The health centre provides full access for individuals who are differently abled.

    Location: Kirkliston Library, Kirkliston (map)
    Hours:  Wednesdays 3pm - 8pm
    Kirkliston Library is easily accessible on public transport and also offers free parking in addition to free Wi-Fi on site. The library provides full access for individuals who are differently abled.

    Location: Portobello, Edinburgh (map)
    Hours:  Every 1st, 2nd and 4th Saturday 10am - 2pm
    This exciting new venue is based in the beautiful coastal town of Portobello and only 16 minutes from central Edinburgh by car.

    Location: Dundas Street, Edinburgh (map)
    Hours: Saturdays 1pm - 5pm
    Our premises at Bright Light offer a range of recently redecorated rooms and full support from a dedicated administration team. Clients are able to enjoy relaxing surroundings with access to all amenities.

    Administration assistant

    Part-time 20hrs per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday

    Based in the historic New Town our Dundas Street premises offers a warm welcome and dynamic environment to work in. With no two days the same the ability to respond quickly andmulti task whilst keeping your focus on customer service is essential. 

    We offer an in-depth induction, access to training, regular support and a competitive remuneration package, in return we ask that you meet the following essential criteria:

    • Previous administrative experience (including but not limited to data entry, invoice processingand client contact)
    • An excellent written and spoken level of the English language
    • Ability to work under your own initiative
    • A high level of computer/IT knowledge
    • Demonstrate a commitment to values and policies of Bright Light
